Clean out rotating assembly and block with brake cleaner?

Im assuming your honing the cylinders as well, a pressure washer with simple green or a heavy degreaser will work, engine brushes come in handy then a good final wash as stated above using scalding hot water and dish soap (the dish soap helps carry the contaminants away) then dry it good, wiping down all machined surfaces with WD40 or oil. Make sure you run a tap through all the holes to clean them out prior to washing....

As far as the rotating assembly, mineral spirits or parts cleaner is best, which shouldn't damage the coating, brake clean may however hurt the coating on the pistons. Wiping the bearings and rods and crank with brake clean wont hurt a thing.
