I wrote in a post the other day about my car and I had some replies about it was probably the header gasket. Well it wasnt. I need some more help. I just got a dss pro bullet 347 and had it dyno tuned it runs great for about 10 min. Then it will start a faint ticking and clicking. The longer you drive it the louder the tick gets. Could it be a lifter, rocker arm or something. What does a main bearing sound like when they go bad? It sounds like putting a piece of an aluminum can in a fan. I have only put about 30 miles on the knew motor.

If its a new block, unlkess the bearings werent installed correctly, Id be surprised if it was a bearing noise but its not out of the realm of possibility. Was the engine properly broken in or did you get it and start beating her up on the dyno? If its an internal engine noise and its something that was DSS's fault then it should be covered (not sure exactly what their policies are). Though if you didnt follow any break in procedure that they may specify, you might have voided any implied warranty. Are the heads new also?

The heads are new also. The people at dss have not been much help. They keep telling me that they are going to call me back but never do.I broke it in right before the dyno. The people that I have been dealing with at the race shop seem to think that the block wasnt clearance right or that the main girdle want clearanced right. We have located the noise in the oil pan (it sounds like something is about to come out of the oil pan). It only makes the noise when the oil is heated up and thinned out. So we are thinking that it is a clearance issue.
