Clutch Chatter solution ?

Um, if you look on varying websites, there are aftermarket 8 bolt flywheels. All Cobra engines had 8 bolt flywheels as did our 99/2000 GT's. What are you having trouble finding??

I am having trouble finding a flywheel that was not a few days shipping away, because of the time constraints I needed to get the car done before the end of the week for the weekend. Plus I didn't want an aftermarket flywheel. I just spent a lot of money the first time around, in Aug and don't have the money to spend on a $300 plus dollar flywheel.

That's just silly, there's a ton of parts availability. Just because a shop couldn't find a part they would put in there from their distributors doesn't mean parts are hard to come by. There is a giant aftermarket.

Yes but aftermarket is very expensive, the stock flywheel that I am getting from Ford is only $225. I looked and looked and could not find any flywheel made by an aftermarket company for that price. Cost is becoming a big issue.

 Clutch work is always expensive... the parts involved aren't always something you can pluck off a shelf. In my experience, cheap flywheel availability rarely comes into play when deciding what car to buy. I think it would be a mistake to sell the car over this issue... these are some of the most reliable cars ever built.

Try seeing if, say, CJ Pony Parts has an M-6375-G46A 8-bolt flywheel in:

M-6375-G46A MUSTANG FORD RACING FLYWHEEL BILLET STEEL 4.6 LITER 1996-2004

$265

M-6375-G46A is the FRPP # for the billet steel 8-bolt modular flywheel. Their website shows it at $289:

Ford Racing Performance Parts - [Part Details]

There must be some performance shop near you that can get one overnighted...

Thats the one I wanted, so i called up the dealership and asked them to order that flywheel from Ford Racing, and asked if they could do 2 day shipping. I was told that the flywheel was back ordered and they did not know when it would be available. They said the reason was due to loss of production from the economic downturn.

I guess I could have bought it from cjponyparts, will remember that place for next time. I was in the middle of a project and pretty stressed at the time. I guess the oem one will have to do, since its somewhere in an airplane on its way to the west coast.

You speak with reason and I know that you are correct and I would regret selling the car. I am just getting pulled in so many directions right now, and the fact that i just replaced the clutch not to long ago has got me to think evil thoughts about my car. But I do miss my truck alittle:(

Oh on another note, i just got a call about the 7.3 powerstroke engine i was building with a friend. The engine was at the machine shop getting setup for reassemble after the heads and pistons were ceramic coated along with cryo treating the rods plus head porting and guess what. The storage area of the shop was broken into last night and everything was stolen except for the block and pistons. Lost the cam, heads, crank, rods, intake manifold, injectors along with all the little bits a pieces that go with the parts. Thank god we had the turbo at his house.

Bad luck :(

I have not had the best luck lately with my stang as of late either. I had the rear end rebuilt about a month ago, had to replace the clutches in the carrier in the process, then two weeks later a dump truck chucks a rock into my windshield, putting a 15" crack in it (thank god for full glass coverage) and had that replaced last thursday, and at the same time I started smelling my serpentine belt burning, that was just a bad pulley at least. :o
