clutch difficulty

I have finally got my tc swap running, but now it won't go into gear while it is running. it is tough but i can get it into second, third, and fourth, but no first, fifth, and reverse. when i put the drivetrain back together, i threw a new 87' tc clutch up under there, but i used the n/a bellhousing...does anybody have an idea what the problem could be?

Cable adjustment problems, maybe?

Did you allign the clutch properlly? Was the cable installed properlly?

Bellhousing should not matter.

The cable was installed properly, and i dont think its an adjustment problem, but im going to go take the tranny back out and try to see if that clutch is alligned right...thanks for your input anymore would be appreciated

should I have used the cable from the TC, because i was told that the regular cable from the mustang would not engage the clutch enough as opposed to the hydraulic one from the TC

Either cable should work...

If the trans is installed, the clutch is aligned, there is no way around that.

It's an adjustment problem.
