Drivetrain Clutch Fork Pivot: Lock Washer?

Replacing my clutch and got a new clutch fork and pivot ball. It had a lock washer under the pivot ball. I don't recall there supposed to one being there.
Can anyone confirm which is right as I'm concerned if screwing up the pedal feel Dir to added length, etc.

I believe people use a washer to change the pivot angle of the fork.
Mine is that way as suggested by the guy at promotion, but I really don't know if it truly works.
