clutch pedal is way high up

my clutch pedal has alwasy been really high up and the catch point it kind of in the middle. is there anyway to adjust it down myslef without taking the linkage apart. my tranny is not a toploader, the linkage is on the side. and as max power asked the headers took a lot of work to get in there. i lost a little on left hand turns. so parking is a little of a bitch

On my '66, there's a pedal upstop on the bracket under the dash. Same on your's maybe? If so, it may be missing or skewed or worn. You'll have to readjust the linkage if you get the pedal to move further down.

I have seen that pedal misalignment myself at car shows and had always assumed it was an automatic to manual swap where people got it wrong. I would be interested in hearing a solution or having other 69-70 stangers check in as I would like to do a swap myself.
