Clutch Pedal Rubbing/Grinding...Weird

When I first get in my car, the clutch is smooth and there are no problems. However, after I have been driving for a little while...the clutch pedal feels strange. It feels like it is rubbing and sticking a little. It functions for the most part and will snap back into place if I release it but no more smoothness. After I let it sit for a while it is fine. then it starts all over again. The cable is brand new and so is the quadrant. Anyone ever heard of this? I thought it was the cable at first but I am starting to think it is the pedal itself.

check the routing of it in the engine bay, is it resting on the header maybe? pull it off the clutch fork and see if its binding even a little unattached. Only other thing I could think of is if its one of the double hook quadrant, it may be slipping on and off the hooks if the cable has too much slack

If you think it's the pedal you could disconnect the clutch cable and see if the pedal has free play. I'm having my own issue with a similar problem but I'm thinking it is my TOB Retainer but if this just started after a new cable install I doubt that would be your problem.
