I just purchased a Cobra 13" front brake kit for my Mustang. The pads that come pre-loaded with the Cobra calipers don't sweep the full surface of the rotor. They stop bout 3/8" from the inner edge of the rotor which is flush with the edge of the caliper. Now my question is, are the brakes (pads) on your Cobra the same way? If so is there another OEM (or equivalent replacement) pad that contact the full surface of the rotor for the Cobra caliper? The pads that were on the stock GT caliper were kinda pear shaped, dipped below the middle of the caliper arm, and swept the full surface of the GT rotor...Any insight would be appreciated.Thanks.

there all the same if im reading this right. mine are that way and my brothers 95 cobra was the same way. either way ur braking is going to greatly improve even with the stock twin piston calipers.
personaly i want 14'' rotors with 4 piston calipers but for some reason i cant remember if it was baer or brembo that made the "better" kit

Thanks

Thanks. I just wanted to be sure. The OEM GT setup, the pad sweeps the whole surface of the rotor so I was just wondering. Does the inner edge of the rotor get all rusty? Braking should be a lot better.

I think it is Baer that has th 14" 4 piston setup but, it's pretty pricey. Prolly would be hella nice though.
