Ive been slowly peicing together an engine for my 92 gt show car project. I looking at the polished typloon or the polished cobra. Does anyone know which one flows better. Ive heard the cobra will choke @ higher rpms but havent heard about the typhoon. I will be running highly modified gt-40p heads and an e cam. Any suggestions would be great.

Depends on what you plan on doing with the car the Cobra should be better for the street making good power down low and the Typhoon is better for Higher rpm. I chose the Cobra for my dailey driver, I was looking for more Tq than High rpm HP. If you go Cobra try to find a real 1993 Cobra piece, i have heard the Repo Cobra manifolds have issues. I found an real Cobra piece on the Corral for 250$ shipped.

+!, if purchasing the a new cobra, I'd recommend a different intake than either of them. They both have quality control issues and both are chinese castings. With ported gt40's and an e cam, I'd recommend a explorer intake with the lower ported by tmoss. Is this a primarily street car, or a race car?

in my opinion typhoon would be 1st choice , unless you run an explorer with a ported lower as above stated

I have a knock-off Cobra intake, for years too. Fit and finish wise I had no issues but it was not until I installed it that I started having oil consumption issues through the PCV.

Porting intakes is easy if you have the right tools. No need to send it out if you have the means.

I have heard more bad things about the Typhoon than the Cobra knock-off's

Its really up to you. Hate to say it but I would just go with what ever looks better in your opinion and what ever you can find the best deal on. You can find a used typhoon on corral for around 220 buck shipped. Cobras go for a little more but are much harder to find on corral, especially if they are real. Performance wise I dont think you would notice a difference, though I would say the typhoon would be better if you are looking for a higher hp combo, such as aluminum heads and good cam but I have seen the Cobra intake make GOOD numbers so I wouldnt say it cant keep up.

Keep in mind you can find a used trickflow intake in great condition on corral for around 350-400, I've evern seen one for 350 that was never even used, just test fitted, so I'd keep my eye open there for intakes.

But on a final note, performance wise, I wouldnt pick either one, get the one you can find the best deal on or like more.

For a show car I'd get the polished Cobra.

Do you have the updated baffle on there? The part number is F6TZ-6L678-AA I think.

Depends on whether you prefer to be bitten by a venomous snake or blown away.

Can't go wrong with a Original Cobra, They DON'T say ford racing on them near the throttle body. I have mine with a 70mm Pro Prod TB, and a Lower Ported by Fox Lake. i need to update the heads, thats my bottleneck.

No, I dont. I did have some oil control issues but I resolved them with a oil seperator system I made much like the Steda unit. Seems to be working and it's been months now although the car is not my DD anymore.
