Cobra R on EBAY

lol yea i dont think its the real thing either for that fact.....and he says "You are bidding on a 1995 Mustang Cobra R race car. This car started it's life as a race car, it was never legal and will never be legal for the street. The R is a full race car, here is a list of the significant features"

maybe im misinformed but i could swear any car sold here from the dealer....with a vin.....is street legal as far as im concerned. and he doesn't even list the miles....just says 40 laps.....pssh

well its got the right motor/interior color...but who in their right mind would do that to such a rare car??(if it is real) they were all white AND street legal they were sold through dealers and had VINs....

i still cant believe they bottled that motor up so much....it should have come with 300@the wheels instead of the crank...i guess thats Ford for ya huh??

Plus, 95 Cobra Rs were white only, i DONT think ANYONE would EVER paint one.

Oh puuleeease guys, most of the Cobra Rs that actually did get raced were painted. Anyone remember the zippo cobra R, and many others? Not everyone buys a race car for their collection...

I'd paint it just because I'm not a big fan of white cars... but I wouldnt touch the interrior unless it was for a roll bar that was needed. I'd keep it legal to drive on the street too

guy in my town has an origianl Cobra R in black was originally white, gutted interior and everything... reminds me of that one... all you have to do is ask for the VIN number to verify and I can tell you if its real or not... So could some of the other fellers on here..

I'm sure he's not the original owner of this car. This guy might believe it's an R because of the wheel center caps that are attached to the fenders.

Fake or not, it's a nicely prepped track car.

If it's real, it's not worth R money in that condition anyway. No one would buy it as an R without the proper credentials. If it's real then someone went through a LOT of effort to strip the car down to paint every bit of it silver, even under the dash. Also, the R didn't come with a silver fuel cell, it was black.

Beautiful job on the cage regardless!!

Ok, me and my trusty zoom just took another look at everything. I know it's not major, but it doesn't seem to have the Cobra headlights, nor does it have the Cobra R distributor cap hold downs (it seems to have the standard Ford snap down style). Also, wouldn't the Cobra of this year have Cobra on the rear bumper? Other things that would identify it are either suspiciously or accidentally not pictured -- at least as far as I can tell.

Maybe I'm grasping at straws???

94-95 didn't have the COBRA deboss on the rear bumper. That came in '96. The Cobra came with the V6 rear bumper. You're right, it doesn't have the Cobra headlamps or the antenna block-off plate.
