i began installing the complete front and rear cobra brake kit today. the fronts went fine. they were pretty easy. i have a problem with the rears, though. the bigger rear rotors require the calipers be mounted farther from the axle via a wider bracket. the problem is that to get the old bracket off, the hub and abs "gear" need to come off. i pounded on them with a rubber mallet, but the didn't want to come off. how do i get them off? are they even made to come off?
btw, the calipers are only mounted beacuase the brake lines are hooked up and i don't want to damage them.
my other problem is that i'm not sure how to remove the abs sensor without damaging it. i removed the bolts, soaked them in penetrating oil, and tryed to pry them off w/a screwdriver, but didn't have any luck. what's the best way to get this out?
please help, i'd like to get back on the road soon!!
