k well i got my code reader working i think. i have a code 67 (O) i have a book and it says neutral pressure switch (NPS) circuit failure, circuit open (3.0L MAP, 3.0LMAF-SFI, 3.8L SFI) What's a NPS? what does this mean? i know i should have the engine warmed up, but i didnt have time when i did it.... if that makes a difference. it read 67, 10, 11 with koeo. shouldn't i see something for my CEL that comes on at high RPM's (but disappears when i let off) after my LT and OR x-pipe install? I havent gotten a CEL for a day or 2 because i've been driving like a pansy though.... how long does it stay in memory?

Code 10 - stray code - you can ignore this one.
Code 11 - Computer internal Circuits are OK.

Code 67 - clutch not depressed (5 speed) or car not in neutral or park (auto) or A/C in On position when codes where dumped. Possible neutral safety switch or wiring problem. This code may prevent you from running the Key On Engine On tests. You can generally ignore this code, since it has no effect on engine performance.

The computer wants to make sure the A/C is off due to the added load on the engine for the engine running tests. It also checks to see that the transmission is in Neutral and the clutch depressed (5 speed). This prevents the car from being driven while the computer is in test mode. Key On Engine Running test mode takes the throttle control away from the driver for several tests. This could prove hazardous if the computer was jumpered into test mode and then driven.

Unless you clear the codes by disconnecting the code reader while the codes are dumping or disconnect the battery, codes remain for 85 start - stop engine cycles.

Check the codes with the Key ON, Engine Off (KOEO) and Key On Engine Running (KOER)

ok well my a/c was off, because i removed it all a while ago. would that mean anything? also, its a 5spd, so the clutch wasnt in either. does that mean nothing is wrong? i was throwing CELs almost every day after my LT install when i'd get over 4000rpms, but they'd disappear when revs dropped. shouldnt i get a code for this?
edit: so won't i always get a code 67 because my clutch isnt depressed? (assuming i'm checking alone fromt he engine bay)? whats a neutral safety switch problem? with this code can i go to a koer test? will i get different codes this way?

The normal method to dump codes is that the A/C is off, you are sitting in the car with it in neutral,
and you are pressing on the clutch. That insures that you don't get a code 67.

The neutral safety switch on a T5 is a pigtail coming off the top front cover. It is item #6 in the drawing below.

In emergeny conditions, you can jumper pin 30 on the computer to ground to trick it into running the test.
