Colors????

Well I know I'm gonna get flammed or something of the sort, but oh well.

As I was changing the oil in my car, I for the first time, noticed that I have a few parts that aren't the same color... upper and lower control arms, and my rockers. Does a color narrow down a manufac.? My control arms are blue, but I can't seem to find any lettering on them. And my Rockers, I saw them through the filler neck on the valve cover are red. I doubt Ford put red rockers in a stock 5.0, and I do know that the previous owner had heads from a 351 put on.

So my question in short is, with red rockers, and blue controll arms does that narrow down any details on them. 1.6, 1.7 rockers? IDK!

Did the rockers look painted or anodized? I think you can get Crane rockers in red...

For the control arms, I can't offer too much help.

The looked anodized. I'm not sure on what this means, I really wish I had the time to just tear down the engine and check over everything.

As its looking, I may have to just pop the valve covers off when I put my performer intake on.

its like 6 bolts to pull the drivers side valve cover....so do that, and also it should be stamped on the rocker what ratio it is, at least thats how my 1.6's are.

for the control arms, feel around for some serial numbers or something, or a stamoped name on it somewhere

Ok, what do I need to do to take it off? What do I need to detach and drain?

i think its 6 bolts, and they are probably 3/8 if i remember right.

i can't remmber which one is the easier one to take off, but think it was the drivers side.

you don't need to drain anything, guessing the control arms are bbk

Ok, if the rain stops, i'll be pulling the valve cover off tomorrow after school, and after the weight room.
