he just said stock displacement the rules seem a little loose to me. and i got a feeling both of you are gonna blow that 2k budget out of the water

sorry i read f/i and i thought he was referring to fuel injection not forced induction

a good h/c/I gears good trans. and an overall well operating fox would destroy an iroc. unless he goes and does the same thing with like a 3500 stall and slicks. I still think the fox will murder that irok turd...

iroc's ARE turds. you can hit 12's in a good running, completely stock, 5 speed fox with just exhaust and gears. gotta completely strip it though. so if it were me, i'd strip the car down COMPLETELY (no interior, no power steering, no smog, remove front sway bar, etc.), find a used but decent top end kit (h/c/i), run minimal accessories, and a set of slicks. depending on how much you find a top end kit for, it might take you over your 2k budget, but you really need to try and squeeze an exhaust system and gears in there somewhere. maybe try finding a car that already has them. also if you can, relocate the battery to the rear to help with weight transfer.

I was debating over stripping it down, the only thing that sucks is I live in alaska and it's freakin cold all the time. We have guys with performance cars running 195 thermostats up there...

Ok good news... the other guy decided that forced induction was ok including nitrous. So I don't know what to expect exactly from him except that his dad has an automotive machine shop. I know that I'm spraying though lol probably alot. Should I have another bottom end ready if I spray a 125 shot? I was also on summitracing's website and all the nitrous cams wewre huge so I will probably go with a smaller cam and hope it doesn't blow up. He said today he might get a 305 car just to show he can beat me with that(laugh) so I may cheat and spend more just to show him what a couple buslengths looks like:stirpot:
