Convertible Spring/Shocks Question

I'm in the market for some springs for my 02 GT Vert. I only want something that will provide me with about a 1" to 1.5" inch drop and maintain close to stock ride quality. My car is daily driven in town reguarly 50-150 miles daily, with ocassional trips on dirt roads. Its very important to me that the car rides very well due to the nature of my work. What do you guys recommend? Also, take note the car is Vert, which i believe needs a different set of springs made specifically for convertibles, right? Also, should i get just the springs (cheaper) or the springs and shocks combination ($$)?? I've heard differing opinions which way to go. Any help appreciated.

I used the search button and didnt come up with much.

Yes coupes and convertibles both have different spring rates because of the weight difference.I would buy them seperate but, you can buy them anyway
you want.The bullitt shocks and struts
is a nice set up for the money.Since
you said you would lower your ride 1"-1.5"
I would go with the Eibach Pro Kit I belive
it's a ideal spring for you!

Eibach Pro kit, I have it on my vert and it improves the ride but not too harsh, looks great !!!

I have an 02 vert too and I went with the Bullitt setup. For the money you can not beat it. Springs, Shocks and Struts for 450+/-.

It is a smaller drop than most but just enough for me and where i drive. Plus only took about 2 hours to install by myself.

I've heard that the bullitt setup tends to make the back end lower than the front due to the springs not being made for a convertible. Was this true with yours?

ALso, any advice on wether or not to go with just springs or a full setup?

non-sense. looks great and seems to be the same stance as factory except the way it should have been sold (lower just enough and stiffer just enough).

depending on mileage I would go with new shocks and struts. I had 30k on mine and i felt a difference with the new ones (not just because of the valving). factory shocks and struts are good for 30-50k depending on driving you do and are not noted for quality. I went with the matched set/packaged deal because of the price and thinking that ford engineers know more about spring rates and shock valving rates than i am ever going to research out on the internet. it works great all together and if i had it to do over again i would do it the same way.

I went for the Tokico HP series struts,shocks & springs. I paid $300 shipped about a year and a half ago.

Drop is about 1.25" and rides great.

So you got the Tokico Shocks/Struts and Tokico springs??? That's what I was looking into. Did it improve the handling a lot?

Yeah, it definately is an upgrade from the stock ride.

Much better. a little "stiffer" I replaced my springs without replacing the shocks/struts and I felt a BIG difference several months later. With the stoch struts there was a LOT of travel and my times went down.

you DON'T need to replace your shocks and struts unless you get a deep drop and very stiff spring.

So a 1" to 1.5" drop would be okay to go without new shocks and struts?

Steeda sport springs, then when funds allow add the Bullitt dampers and sway bars. You can then sell the Bullitt springs to get some cash back on the deal.

I have the Steeda Sport Springs with stock shocks and struts (for now).
