Just dont do H&R SSs unless you live somewhere with great roads. The front of mine is so slammed its ridiculous. They drop the verts so low. I'm replacing the front with Roush springs. You may want to consider them. They do a nice looking drop on the verts - lower than steedas but not too low. I'll be installing them without isolators and will have pics soon. You can buy them on ebay.

The KYB AGX shocks are great. 350 for all 4 on ebay. 4 way dial on top of struts and 8 way dial conveniently located on the inside of the shocks. I love these things.

I have the Eibach Prokit with no isolators, Tokico HPs and MM C/C plates. I drive my car every day and the roads around here are ok, not great but not too bad. To me the car doesn't ride any different that stock (I only had 1,200 miles one it at the time) but its firm when it needs to be. Its a little noisy without the isolators but if you leave them in it wont make any noise.
I think you will be happy with the Prokit. You can see pics of mine in my sig. Keep in mind it will be about 1/4" higher with the isolators.
I would definatly replace the struts/shocks when you do it. It will ride much better and the stock ones wont last long at all.

IMO - The ride is stiffer with the spring travel, but not like a 2X4 on wheels. On a smooth open road, its great. I will do adjustable shocks and new struts eventually, just didn't see the need right away. I have a list of things to install and/or buy first including gears, chip and intake.

Best I have seen was from this place:

This would be about $196...

$179 is a better price... Where was that from?

I have Eibach Pro Kit on my 02 Vert. It dropped 1.5" and is perfect. I have stock springs and struts and it rides great on the straights and hugs the turns. Install the springs, ride it for a while and see what you think. 1.5 is the perfect drop, any more and your scraping.

Update: i found them for 179 on ebay...

Also.. You guys with the EIbachs, did you get the springs that were made specifically for a vert? at stangsuspension.com they have a ones for verts and coupes.. I"M assuming you all did..

How long have you had the shocks on with the stock springs and struts? I'm wondering if the stock struts/shocks go back quicker with lower springs.. If you've had them on ther for a while, what was the ride quality to begin with compared to the present.

Do I need Caster/Camber plates for the eibach pro kit?

Need an answer quick before i click "order" Will i need them for a proper alignment?? its no more than a 1.5 inch drop front/back. I've heard no, i've heard yes....... i dunno which way to go.. (i'm hoping no... save me some money!)

Unfortunately there is no way anyone can say definitely if you will need them or not. Every car acts a bit differently to the drop. Most have been able to get by without them but some needed them. You can get them up front so you know you will be able to get a perfect alignment or wait and see. I will most likely be ordering the Pro-kit this week, I have decided to wait and see after the install if I need them or not.

I've had my H&R SS with Mach1 struts/shocks and MM C/C plates on my vert for a week and I can not get over how much better the handling is over stock. This has been my latest mod but if I had to do it over again, it would have been my first. Shocks seem to be very well matched to the springs. Scraping hasn't been an issue yet. Good luck with your selection and let us know how it handles once they're in.

The reason why I went with aftermarket springs, struts and shocks was to get rid of the 4x4 look. But I have to chime in and say that the ride quality is far better than stock. It is most noticable when you do 70+ mph.

As far as CC plates, I did not get any with my tokico HP series shocks, struts and springs. The shop that installed everything for me could not align my setup. This resulted in damaged front tires and they were pretty much garbage after a couple of weeks. I then bought 18" rims with new tires and haad another shop realign my setup and I have had no problems since. My drop was 1.5" at first but dropped another .25" before the second alignment.

It is definitely worth the extra $150 or so to get the plates. The alignment will be so much easier and you do not run the risk of damaging your tires. It will run you a couple of hundred dollars to replace those which you could have spent on the CC plates.
