I've searched for info and can't find an answer to my cooling problem.
1994 mustang gt--afco aluminum radiator--8 months old, new mr. gasket 180 deg thermostat, new overflow tank and all bumper air delector in place. Even performed manual fan swith mod and car still goes over the L in normal after it warms up and I am at a stop. If I'm going down the freeway w/ a/c on--it stays at the L in normal. I know w/out a mech temp gauge--I don't really know what the temp is, but I always fear that my car will overheat. Running 50/50 water and coolant. If I have the radiator cap off (which is also new), there are no bubbles in coolant and I dont see any movement of the coolant. Can a water pump go bad w/out fluid leaking from weep holes? Also, when I turn on the fan switch--my temp gauge jumps immediately. Oil pressure gauge also pegs out. Possible short or other electrical isssue? Sorry for the long post, but no sure what to do next.

Welcome to the boards! Wait, this is your first post and you have been a member for a couple years?

I would get a mech gauge on there, as you noted. Not becuase the stock guages suck, but because yours are particularily sucking. Your car might be fine temp-wise, but you are having an electrical issue going on.

Good luck.
