Corbeau cr1's, Cobra seats or cheap knockoffs?

I just bought some GS-1 seats from Jegs and love them. I've been looking for Sparco style seats, without the price and something to hold me in better:



These aren't the lightest seats ever, but the 'leather' is MUCH nicer then OEM and I like not having a large text advertisment for a company on my seats.

Forget those universal mounts, I ordered two sets and need to send them back. Head over to www.wedgeengineering.com and pickup some of their brackets made for the Mustang. I recently sent in an order to those guys after reading a recent thread.

Absolutely love them.

5'9" at 210 lbs...20 years of lifting...and I fit snug in the "regular" seat (up to 34" waist)...if you're a real big dude...you may need the bigger seat (up to 44" waist I think).

Keep in mind my shoulder-bolsters on the seats come within a 1/2" of the inner door panel, and I would worry that the bigger seat might rub the door.

Mine don't rub the center console either...fit perfect.

Get the Corbeau brackets...they cost next to nothing...great quality (powder-coated too) and fit perfect. Took me probably 10 minutes to install each seat with a few wrenches.

Seat quality is awesome...and it puts the driver in an "all business" position...shoulder bolsters place the arms towards the wheel and shifter...legs are pointed right at the pedals. No lazy laid-back driving with these things.

Hit a corner with some spirit and you'll know exactly what these seats were made for. No sliding...no hanging on to the wheel...the damn seats are literally grabbing you. Gives you the opportunity to have "light hands" on the wheel, and concentrate on finding grip in the corner...instead of hanging on!

The down side...my Flaming River steering rack is on order...cause I want the steering to be more responsive now.

You'll love them...no major cushy padding...so you lose the "give" in the seat under acceleration...you feel WAY more connected to the car...and they're quite a bit lighter than the stockers...so there's an extra bonus.

I ordered mine in black cloth with the inflatable lumbars and brackets, then sent them out for custom 2-tone leather upholstery...dark charcoal down the middle...black on the bolsters and backs.

those look good, if you want a cheaper alternative... get 96-98 GT seats, mine are WAY WAY more supportive than the 99+ seats... have good side bolstering for stock, not a flat seat like the 99+s

I like mine pretty good. I would've like the seat back to have a more positive "LOCK", but the benefits of the seat out-weigh any nit picky things. In a year or so, I'll most likely get a Sparco or Recaro non-reclining seat, as this cars purposes have changed.
