Hey everyone. I own an 01' n/a saleen. It will be coming off the road in a couple months for the winter and I am planning on putting a kenne bell supercharger on it. Im going to run 9 psi for now until I can upgrade the bottom end(probably in a year or so). Ive started looking at a few shops in my area and was just wondering what I should be hearing for numbers for the cost of the whole install. Obviously , I know Im going to need the kb kit itself, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, etc. If anyone else has had this done just wondering what u guys paid. Thanks.

Kid,

The 1.7 kit comes with everything you need. You will have to go buy stock pullies to replace your Saleen ones though. Most shops install that blower for 900-1 large. You can source the price on the blower from KB direct. That way if something is missing from the kit you will get a fast response since you bought it from them direct.

Marcus is correct, the kit comes with all you need. When I did mine, I ordered the Saleen gauges from Haney Motorsports, and don't forget the boost sending unit. I also made a few changes for appearence purposes. I used the Chicane tank, it will need some adaptors as the hose sizes are different from the KB. I also used the MAC CAI, Lightning MAF, and an Accufab TB. The KB cold air kit looks cheesy in my opinion. The link in my sig shows picutures of under the hood.

Thanks for the info. I have 2 more questions. The first is how much hp will I make when I can forge the bottom end next year? Ive seen people running between 400-430 on the stock internals, but havent seen many people post with forged internals. Also, Ive seen alot of talk about the saleen series V. My question is if I got this supercharger, could I run it at a low boost level until I can redo my motor, then turn up the boost? Thanks gain.

If you are a power junky, spend the extra money on the KB 2.2/save money for a new hood. You can run less boost at a cooler temp and when you are reay to build your bottom end, you will already have the big blower. Then you can pulley down again.

When all is said and done(blower, new bottom end, etc.) Im hoping for around 600-700 hp at the rear wheels. This will be done over time and not all at once.(hopefully end of 06-early 07). Should I just go with the KB 2.2 or will the KB 1.7 be fine to run those kind of numbers?? Thanks again for your time and info.
