Could this be a problem?

My car seems to need the cooling fan at 40-50 mph, on the highway the temp stays stable like its supposed to. I have a 180 thermo, a new radiator with Taurus fan that kicks on at 195-188; the fan cools the car down even at speed, and the upper radiator hose has pressure.

I think its an air flow problem, my deflector was always warped on one side, but now it somehow gotten worse lately. What do you think?

I might just be paranoid because my old engine had cooling problems and it blew.

Deflectors are cheap. I'd get a new one.

If the fan isnt on (while at speed), do temps creep up or just kind of stay put? If they are coming down (after being in traffic previously), the fan might just be speeding up the process.

I can be driving in town and the will temps creep up, I'll turn on a good stretch of road and cruise, then the fan will come on one last time and the temp will settle to 190.

I have a led that tells me when the fan is on now, so I never knew how radiator cooling fans cycled untill now. I'm probably paranoid, but I guess I'm ok; my deflector doesnt look as efficient as it could be. Gives me an excuse to go to the JY.
