well first off im not even sure i want a cam, just because i dont want my idle all over the place. Im looking at the trickflow kit since it is a very nice price for what you get, but im not sure i need all of it. timing chain... what are benifits of changing it out? with a mild cam, how bad does your idle decrease, but what kind of power do you get when you have heads/intake then add a cam? im really just considering getting an intake and heads, instead of the whole kit. intakes are all really the same in the end (other than a few differences) but im really interested into which heads i should get. I was looking at the gt40 turbo swirl extra heads, but i read they dont do much? this true? im only considering them for the price ($1000 flat fully assembled) but how do they compare to the trickflow heads? Also, i always hear ppl talking about the AFR165. what makes this head so special? id love it if someone could point me to some tech articles or answer my questions straight up.

with a cam your idle doesnt drift randomly.. it just has a lumpier idle.. changes the sound and feel of the car.. the TFS kit is a good one.. and you'll need all of it. .your down there... change everything you can including the chain lol.. the benefits is flow and power.. it'll be night and day difference between now and then with a TFS kit.. if your going to run after market heads and intake.. change the cam.. if you don't change the cam.. its not even worth it.. don't waste your time. the AFR's are factory machine ported.. meaning you dont get a ruff casting.. aka the heads are badass/power out the box.. think of it this way.. you don't build a house without putting in insulation

Don't worry about the cam if you get the TFS kit, the TFS stage 1 cam is a nice cam. You should change your timing chain, it will give you piece of mind of not worrying about it breaking. I am pretty sure the TFS kit is rated at 350hp and 370 lbs of torque. The TFS kit is nice if you want everything and don't want to worry about the little things. The GT40 turbo swirls are 1000 fully assembled, i got my TFS heads for $995 out of summit. Blue Oval industries has them listed at 995 on their website but they upped thier price, i called summit and told them what they were listed at and they price matched them for me. Just giving you an idea...

Bastard the cheapest I got summit to price match was for $1049.

I did not want a cam in my car either. I loved the way my car idled with the stock cam, if it wasn't for the exhaust you would not know the car was on. After seeing how good my friends car ran & idled with 165s and a stage 1, I knew that was the cam for me. My car idles fine and pulls hard with the TW heads and stage 1 cam. No regrets at all. Good Luck

Yeah, i always heard about people getting them for $995, but noone sold them for that when i was looking last year. Blue Oval Industries was a tease because the website said $995 but it was actually $1250. I heard summit priced matched so i took a chance, they really didn't even ask where i found the other price... They just asked me what price, and i said $995 and they said OK!
