My 2000 GT cracked an intake, still has the plastic one, never had the tsb done to chage it out, I bought it used, never knew, whattaya gonna do. My question is: What am I going to need (if anything) besides an intake and some new gaskets? Any tips? anything funky I need to know? Never worked on a 4.6 spent plenty of time under the hood of 5 liters tho, so I dont think it should be really difficult, just looking for any tips/tricks you guys have learned along the way that might help me out. Not trying for anything performance with this thing, just want it to not leak water anymore. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Pretty straight forward, maybe even a bit easier than a 5.0 b/c u don't have to jack with the gi-huge upper intake.....

Really, Dorman makes a kit for it? K I just looked it up. that kit is pretty awesome, I was about to spend $205 on an intake and then have to buy gaskets and a stat, and I was still wondering what I was gonna have to do with the alt bracket, the description on that thing says "Includes thermostat, alternator brackets and all gaskets and O-rings needed for installation" that's so killer.
All thats left now is the fun part.
Thanks for the help you guys rock!

ya the only thing i didnt like was the 195 degree stat. they say its oem but i like the 180 degree myself. so i junked the 195 and bought a 180 and stuck in it. i was pretty amazed at how everything worked and went together so easy. so have fun and btw i got mine from autozone. dont know if they are nationwide, but they had it in stock. everyone else i had to wait 3 or 4 days.

My intake cracked in my 97 GT that had a 2000GT motor. I ordered a replacement from Summit for $250 with the gasket set to do the job. Put it on and never had issue.
