once again, i have made a post on another forum, and i dont get useful replies...so, could someone help me out on my situation. i would greatly appreciate any help yall can give me

i am about to order some wheels and i am going to get some new cragar's for the 66 vert. however, im having a problem with backspace. they only sell the 15x7 wheel in two backspaces...4.125 and 2.25. which of these do i need and/or which will look the best(dont really know how each will look)? also, what size tire is suggested with the correct backspacing? i was thinking either 215/60-15 or 225/60-15, so please correct me if im wrong and recommend a good tire size. just so you know, i checked the chart and neither of these backspaces are listed
thanks

Those tires should be good (215 in front, 225/235 in the rear is what I plan on with my 66), I'm surprised they don't offer 4.5" backspacing, it would seem that that would be natural.

I also have questions about Cragar SSs, so I might as well ask them here before making a thread. First question is, can anyone vouch for the quality of these wheels? I think they're some of the better looking wheels out there, but I have heard some people say the quality isn't there, especially with the chrome. Is this a big issue? I don't want to spend hundreds on wheels that don't look good in a few years.

Also, is the unilug design okay? I see several wheel packages on ebay with unilug bolt patterns... but I have also heard that unilug can be bad for a number of reasons. Is that true?

Thanks

I bought a set of Cragar SS 14x7 with 215-60 BF Goodrich tires last year from a guy that had them on his car for over 3 years with no rust or peeling of the chrome. They are the 4.125 backspace and they sit in the w/w real nice and clear all the suspension components ok. I think the unilug wheels are ok for the average driver, but i wouldn't want to do any hard drag racing or road course with them. I don't even know if the regular bolt patterns are available anymore. I wanted 15x7 and all i could find were the unilug's but the price was right on the set i bought so that's what i got.

Think they'd be dependable for a 13 second car with some handling goodies (no road course or anythign much faster than that) driven daily?

Not sure if i'd trust them or not, but here's the link to cragar's site. Give them a call and see what they say.

Use this chart for a perfect fit, without worrying about fender rub. And yes, it will fill the wheel well. It's at the bottom of the page.
