Anyone ever install one or know how to. I've never seen the topic discussed and a search turned up nothing. I need to install/replace mine. Can anyone lend any insight?

Get one from a salvage yard. They are not that expensive, except new. It will also give you practice pulling it from under the driver side front fender where it is located near the door hinge area.

I've done it, I'll wait until you have the cable to explain it though...it's pretty self explainatory once you get it apart.
