My buddy has a 512/516 custom cam he took out of his mustang that ran like 8.40s in the 8th pretty much a stock stang on street tires with headers and a few other bolt ons and changed the cam out to a different one and put nitrous on it he said he'd sale it to me for about 75$ he said it went 8.40s on motor and he switched it out to another cam and it slowed it down to 8.60s on the same tires all motor. he says it ran strong in his car (which i rode in it and its quick as **** for a pretty much stock coupe. my question is can I run it in my stock 90 5.0? I was going to buy a Bcam and a few other things but I'm kinda on a small budget right now and I got it all tore apart and figred I might as well stick a cam in it, so what do yall think? worth it and would it be ok to run in my cam untill i get ready to do a complete h/c/i swap in the summer?

If you don't have the same combination as your buddy, then that custom cam isn't going to be the right one. If it's close, then you might do alright with it.

That's the one sucky thing about custom cams; there is no resale on them because they are ground only for the original customer.

Not sure he told me the lift and its 512/516. I guess im going to just get me a F or B cam and run it in my car. will the F cam run in a stock motor? Or should I just get the B cam?

I dropped my heads off today to get them presure checked to see whats up with the water in the oil and cylinder. and I'm gona g ahead and order my cam tomorrow. what gaskets would i need to replace to change the cam out? so i can go ahead and get them. thanks yall.

Find out the exact specs on his custom cam and post them. Lift, Duration @ .050, and LSA.
