Well....

I've only been releasing tidbits of information here and there as people ask...

Moving from Illinois up here to the frozen Tundra has certainly put a damper on things and has slowed me down a bit.

Anyway, I figured I could go ahead and post what I've got pictures of so far. Rick has some more pictures that I still have to get from him but these are good enough to give you an idea of what's going on. The first pic of course, if of the old motor. The old motor was just some basic bolt ons and the KB. Made great power for what it was but like everyone else on this forum... That just won't do. hehehe

So here it is...

Ed Curtis custom. To my knowledge, there are only two of this particular grind in existence.

Here's a short audio clip (with some crappy video) of what she sounds like with a QUIET exhaust system. The exhaust is 1 3/4 Jet coated Bassani shorties, 2 1/2 in. Bassani catted X-Pipe, and Bassani Quiet Thunder Cat Back.

Before anyone says anything... YES! I'm going to replace the valve covers! LOL They've been painted black since these pics but what I want is a set of stock style covers that have been dipped in chrome. I just really like the shape of the stock style covers.

The pics were taken at Rick 91GT's place. The video was done in my garage here jsut a few nights ago in response to someone asking for a sound clip.

The heads are AFR185s. I'd considered doing the 205s but also wanted to remain backward compatible with emissions. After talking with Rick and he conversing with Ed Curtis, I decided that the 185s would be my best bet.

All forged internals, zero balanced, 327 Stroker. ARP throughout and studs where they could be applied. RR are 1.6 ration Trickflows. Springs are upgraded from what comes with the heads in order to deal with the Kenne Bell. Hardened pushrods, deep oil pan... Am I forgetting anything important?

Oh... Billet STEEL flywheel. I know I know... Rick wanted to go aluminu too but teh steel has the charactersistics I was looking for in a DD and I also didn't want ot have to install a scattershield.

come on with the motor info bro!!!!! Those better be AFR 205 sick of seeing people with 185s lol nice ride :nice:

Nope... they're not. Perhaps once I'm done with my job and move someplace that will give me classic tags, then I'll swap some 205s on. :)

looks awesome! but im just curious, will you have to use epoxy on the lower intake to get it to match up to the oval head ports? or will they be gasket matching the heads?

I'm not sure what you're talking about. The ports on the heads are a near perfect match for a set of Felpro 1250's. They also match up very nicely to my lower intake.

hmm, intresting jw. as most sbf heads are not that oval but have more of a rectangle shape. nm, how much hp are you projecting?

I'm anticipating 500+ to the wheels.

She's already made 400 RW, untuned, and showing only 3 psi on the boost gauge at around 4500 RPM. The combination is designed to make power all the way to 7000 RPM. I have a much smaller (more boost) pulley for the Kenne Bell that has yet to be installed. I expect between 10 and 14 psi from that smaller pulley.

My big issue now is finding the time to work with this damned TwEECer R/T and get the tune dialed in with the large pulley and make it all "safe" before I go any further with boost.

My having to move has really slowed my progress. Now I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere and I've not heard of any tuning geniuses out my way just yet. I do at least have a wideband )2 installed so I should be able to get the tune pretty damned close to get it drivable then take it to a dyno for some more pulls and data-logging.

Hum... KB + dart based SBF = Torque box reinforcments needed

Roger that! I've got a set in the garage that I also got from Rick.

Needless to say, I still have a lot of work ahead of me to make things "right".

5 Lug, 4 wheel disk is also in the works along with a stiffer rear suspension.
