I'm wanting to modernize my 67 dash and looking for ideas (with pictures) PLEASE. I don't really want to use one of the dash/gauge kits because I won't be using factory heat/ac controls etc and I already have all Autometer stuff. Has anyone covered the textured dash area arround gauges and in front of passenger with metal (or metal paper adhesive), carbon fiber, etc.? How about smoothed the texture and painted? Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks 67GTA. I wish it was bigger. Ideal would be a place to keep cars and another place to work on cars, with some way to seperate them. Sparks/grinding/welding/sanding ain't good for shiny finished cars. You have a 429 67 too?

Yep. Normally aspirated though. I like the flames.

Here is my new shop.

On my old 68, I re-did the dash with the 67 Aluminum panels, used 1967 Cougar XR-7 Tach & Speedo, and used 2" black-faced mechanical gauges in the factory holes. I moved the gas guage up the the clock location. In the center between the dash pods, I made a custom panel with two gauges, and switches for BU and Fog lamps.

Simple, but different, and looked more elegant when it was done.

I have no pics, sorry....

You'd be amazed at all the great Ideas I have got from this site. Keep asking!

Dash is available from most Vendors. For the added impact, look at the matching deluxe door panels with the aluminum insets as well. Gets pricey, but looks great!
