Hey there. I registered as a member just before the site crashed and didn't get around to re-registering until now. I've had my II since November. It's a mostly stock 77 V6 coupe, white with red/white interior with about 69,000 miles on it. I've done a lot of work on it since I got it, just trying to fix wonky things previous owners did to it. It had a AM radio that I switched out with a AM/FM 8-track that works. Carb has been replaced. New weatherstripping. Just got the horn working.

I'm the one someone mentioned had been on her way to Carlisle when her car quit. It was a simple thing. I hadn't swapped out the cheap battery for a good one (because I thought it was working properly) and it just up and died on me in bumper-to-bumper traffic (ugh). anyway, i did make it to the show without the car and had a blast seeing all the IIs there.

Right now I'm working on getting some battery parts together. Got the shield, etc and just need the air duct. I'm also hoping to pick up a set of the white lacy rims (thought they'd look better than the hubcaps :nice: )

This is my 4th Mustang and second Mustang II. Years ago I had a 67, a 77 V8 coupe, and then a 79. The II was my favorite so that's why I got another one.

so that's my story. Nice to meet you!

Welcome! Between here and the .net site, you should never lack for getting info about II's, no matter your particular area of interest. Don't be scared off however, by a little occasional dissention. It's part of the nature of this place!

Nice II! :nice: That car looks like it's in great original shape. Those Lacey spoke wheels would definately add a nice touch to it.

Hope to see alot more future posts from ya, and don't even hesitate to ask anything around here. (as you may have noticed!)

Welcome aboard.

Too bad about Carlisle. From those pics I think your's would have been the nicest of the coupes that were there. I was the one that got talking to your folks while we were checking out the nice black king with the "mini" king(it's little trailer) behind it.

gotta love the white and red interior cars :D but my mach has the red seats as well.

Thanks! :D It's definitely a work in progress though. LOL

Yep, my parents mentioned meeting you. I was over at the swap meet with a friend digging around for II parts. (didn't find anything)

I usually post on the .net site LXXVICOBRA mentioned but have learned a lot from reading the posts here.

Those lacey-spoke wheels were used on various MII's. Some have a pair of grooves machined into them for pinstripes, some don't. I've seen them white, beige, natural, and natural with various colors between the spokes (King Cobra). If it were me I'd wait until you found a set for a good price (less than $100), sand/strip them and have them powder coated glossy white. That would look really sharp on your car.

. Got the shield, etc and just need the air duct. ][/QUOTE] Welcome , I was at Carlisle with my modified Cobra Clone ( white/blue stripes )and you are in luck !! I have a battery cooling duct. Great shape. E-mail me and we will talk shipping ,etc. Matt

Vince, I'm working with someone on a set for $100 with the red center caps. They are white with the red stripes around the inside. I probably will need to have them restored. I have a question, though. Who does powercoating? A body shop?

Matt! You have mail!
