ok, im new here.. first post. anyways. i got a 90 lx 5.0 hatchback. and my horn and cc doesnt work. and my abs is flashing codes at me. so i narrowed it down to the clock spring. so i go to a ford dealership... ford doesnt make this part anymore. is their any place i can get this thing? i want to try and avoid going to the junk yard and picking one up. ive tried 50resto.com but they have 94 and up. any help would be great. thanks :SNSign:

I have only changed one of these, on a friends 90 F150, and it came from Ford about at year ago.

A Ford dealer can do a nationwide search for supposedly out of date parts also, and give you a printout of the dealers and phone numbers who have one still in stock.

Or try Green Sales obsolete Ford parts.

I had the same problem over a year ago. I have a 90 vert and of course Ford could get the clocksping but not the plate for it. So I tried a junkyard (don't go this route) most clockspings are blown due to the airbag going off. If you do find one that has not gone off then the wires can not be cut by the junkyard you need the full harness. The trick is you can’t test at the junkyard you have to wait to take it to Ford.

After not having a horn or airbag cc for almost a year and the third junk column I took into them I lost it :bang: and told them to find one for me since it is a Ford product so they should know where best to get one. In my case Ford found a dealership in Ontario that had a complete set and we lucked out but I had to push Ford to help me out.

To get Ford to go the extra mile you really have to push them to think for a min about how to solve a problem, if the part is not on the shelf or they don't have a manual they don’t have a clue.

I hope this helps and prevents you from wasting your time and energy like I did.

yea, i got a good friend over at pearson ford here in san diego. he said they would have to back order one from new york. if its not the right one, ill just be like im not gonna accept it and make them take it back.
