E7s, stock cam and a Cobra intake is the funnest... :D!

DO what YOU want do. In the end you can have both and make great power!

but you need to port those heads to make anywhere near the power, and while you're spending money on porting, new springs, and new valves..you might as well get aluminums to shave 45 pounds off your front end.

They did that one before, but it was against a Vortec SC. SC made more power, but they didn't even get 300 to the wheels with the edelbrock system,, at least in the old magzine. They should have it against the TFS system. Keep your stock engine, and just order a hellion kit. It will cost you about the same as both the SC and HCI, probally a little less, but you'll beat the SC and HCI combined car.

I would like to see a competition between a
Tmoss-Thumper combo vs. Edelbrock Combo.

Whose ported??? Mine arent and I have a stock cam, yet still threw down 272/316 on a dynojet! Throw a custom grind, port them and a better intake than a Cobra and who knows what the E7s will do.

And although I still have the 45 lbs, the $600 less than AFR 165s I spent went towards other things that helped me out! :nice: Hey I even have the battery up front, and a stock hood I can shave weight with!

Costed is a word my sister chooses to use. Maybe its a younger generation thing?

I dont know if the hellion kit would be more.....I think it costs $4500+ where as the tfs kit, a new fuel pump, injectors, maf, etc. will run you just about $3000. yea the hellion kit includes all of that but i still dont think it will end up added up to the same amount... i may be wrong though cause the hellion kit also includes stuff like an electric fan

edit: It is HP Performance who offers an electric fan with their kit....HP's Kit is $4495 and Hellions is about $4995. Has anyone heard any updates with Project Hooligan (MM&FF stock 5.0 with the HP Kit running 10s) That car makes me want to do a turbo before any other mods

Damn, you probably have the fastest stock mustang in the WORLD! with those times in your sig. I have a 325 stroker with 305/361 to the tires and only run a 12.5 on Drag radials.

Its not stock though, or even close, I just run E7s, stock cam, stock bottem end, stock suspension. Theres a good deal more than exhaust and gears needed to run mid 12s!

what they dont tell you is how much snappier a hci is then jus a stock motor with a blower. most centrifugal on non modified motors arent as snotty as youd think they are. i agree with aliate x on the hci being more fun. plus you should start off with the hci and then put the blower on later. it saves you work which this article also stated. if jus throwing a charger on was the way to go there would be no aftermarket for heads and intakes. i also think they should have used the trickflow package and not the edelbrock, as the trickflow package uses better heads that utitlize stud mount roller rockers and a better cam. the cam in the eddy kit is an e303. the best part of the eddy kit is that intake. that novi 2000 blower though is very badass. if i were to go the centrifugal route, thats the blower id get. it can support 1000 horses. my coworker is using one on a 347.

I think its funny how everyone is saying H/C/I but has no real experience with a stock blown car

Here is my take on it.. I have a stock intake to oil pan car.. I have an SC-trim vortech (@ 10psi) and full exhaust.

Hmm.. I installed the blower in 4 hours... it cost me a total of $1,700 bucks.

Pretty much all H/C/I kits cost more than that.. take much more time to install and are generally a larger pain in the butt.

And in the end... I can still run with all the basic H/C/I cars, maintain perfect streetability, and my HWY gas mileage actually went up (city took a dive though).

I dunno guys.. Im pretty satisfied with my route. It was cheaper, easier, and a little more effective. :nice:

Plus, If i decide to sell the car I can return it back to stock in one afternoon.

(i do have a mexican 331 H/C/I engine in the works though... which I will put my blower on when it gets done.... so yea.. to the guy that said both :nice: )
