alright gang,
ive learned alot from the info here, but wanted to see and confirm what the heads up are on my choice of combos. I want to yield the most hp gain from what i have.....
i currently have 95' svt gt40 irons,a 1.7rr crane cams set .... so those are my choice of heads. since i already have them and got a fair deal on them.....
Now i need a intake to match it up. first choice would be an exploder but i don know if there is a direct swap for the egr and act provisions since im really confused on the whole explorer interchange stuff. I was alos thinking to have tmoss port my upper and lower since it claims to flow better than a gt40 after the work has been done...
so that would be a gt40iron with a tmoss and stock cam. I was thinking of keeping the stock tb. but i could be wrong i could go 65-70mm but dont want to overkill. basically what should i do with my current gt40's and keeping the stock cam....or is inevitable that i should run a gt40 intake

A Cobra intake and a 65mm TB would be a good combo with the heads and cam. Like the snowball effect , if the heads are coming off you might as well swap the cam too. A typhoon or trick flow street heat would also work fine too. I would also do a afpr and a phenolic spacer while you are doing the intake swap, if you dont already have them.

as far as gaskets and misc stuff im going to need this is all i have thought about.and need to start ordering....
1) 2 quality head gaskets
2) 2 quality valve cover gaskets
3) set of new arp head bolts

how about thread sealer for some of the head bolts

I believe when I got mine explorer intake gaskets, there were some kits that came with both the upper and lower gaskets, and some that have them individually. I wouldn't go to the auto parts stores, those gaskets are about twice as much as like from summit. And depending on where you go, they may not have the one you want, i had to look everywhere. Plus you can get some good felpros from an online store.

i would say no,,,and if there is a difference it should be minimal....

ok so head gaskets are the same, and intake gaskets are the same when using a gt40 head and intake? the only difference is the gasket from the upper to lower. Or is the intake to the heads different(gasket port size different?) i dont want to order the wrong stuff......
i was thinking of just getting this edelbrock set for 108.00 listed under a 1993 cobra? (ps. my gt40 irons are from a 95cobra)
http://info.rockauto.com/getimage/g...l=http://info.rockauto.com/Edelbrock/7364.jpg
and then just ordering the china gt40 which comes with the upper to lower gasket? sound good.....then just a good set of head bolts and im ready!

ps. anyone know the mm diameter on a china gt40 intake.....i was looking to get a 70mm tb....

pss. and will the 1.7 rr clear a stock valve cover???
