I'm no expert, but couldn't it be possible that they have a different breed of deer in Europe? I've seen these pictures twice before and both times I was told it was a deer.

I dunno, i'm no expert either but i live in the country and i've seen a lot of deer hits, and just about every one of them somehow involved a busted windshield. Also look at the rest of the bumper, almost unharmed. Hell the radiator core support isn't even phased...hitting even a small doe would've really tore up the front of that car. In order for a car to hit a deer and lodge that much of it inside the engine bay, it would've had to be hauling ass, and it would've had to blow the deer to bits, which would've demolished the rest of the front of that car. If it was a deer, it was a newborn baby deer.

Here's a Honda (i think Accord?) that hit a deer:

Here's another, oddly enough another Honda:

Most hits are more like "clips" where you just barely hit a deer. Those two look more like someone nailed it almost head on. With the way that BMW bumper has the damage right in the middle i have to assume it was pretty straight forward hit, but neither corner has any damage, not even a busted headlight, so to me that says whatever hit it was very small...smaller than a deer. Anything is possible though, and i'm sure someone will tell me that BMW's are better quality than a Honda and that it would take a hit better and blah blah blah...lol.

Definately a red fox. If that was a deer...the whole front of the car would be gone at 120+mph. I hit a deer at 55 with my old blazer, and it looked like I hit a tree at 100mph. The bumper was an old metal one too.

Man, I always knew that BMW's were superior to our Fox's, but that Fox body got OWNED!!!

so did the deer/fox survive? i didn't see anything about that.....

That statement was hilarious! Thanks for brightening my day! A short story along the same lines: Over the summer I had to 'put down' (shoot) a moose that had a brain-worm parasite. The moose was running in and out of traffic, and yards for 3 days, prior. After a nice head-shot, a few gawkers came by and asked if the poor thing was o.k.? Did you have to tranquilize it?? So I replied "yes, he is just having a nap." (a super long dirt nap! lol) Blood was literally pouring out of the moose's head, like a faucet. Gotta love the animal lovers!

Nope. Not a deer. It was a baby Sasquatch. Now, it's a baby Sa-squish.
