Yeah but it was a pretty good deal and I kinda went on a whim. I decided if that wasn't meant to be then I wasn't going to waste my time with another set of irons.

Man I wish I would have posted in this thread earlier. Thats a smokin deal, my heads are too big and I'd have jumped right on that $600 patriot deal.

grey why not just buy a explore motor complete, that would give you better heads intake unless you already have it then just sell off the parts you dont need, take the heads off it have them worked over a little bit and put them on your car...sell what parts you have left, win win for you!

Apparently, you don't know what he already has done to his engine. He has already done what you suggested, he just didn't use the heads. Stop giving advice until you actually know something, or actually start doing a little research.

I'll agree, this sounds like a good deal for a set of aluminums. If I had saw this post and these heads were out when I got mine, I woulda saved up alittle more to get these. man im pissed.

IM sorry i probably missed it but what is the cc flow of the head. I just got a set of eddy performer rpms. they are the 2.02/1.60 valved head that will be going on my 347 stroker, but i believe they are only 170cc size. are your heads bigger. Im fearing that these heads i have will choke my new engine and not give me th power im hoping for.

They said it was an 'as cast' of a AFR 185 from the AFR post.

Should be just fine on a stroker.

The seriousness of your setup will determine that. How big of a cam? Intake? What rpm range are you trying to stay in? Where do you want to make your power?

Personally I think a 347 would benift all around from a larger runner head, as the 170cc is seems more aptly suited to a 302-306 application...not that yours wont work, but big #, high rpm stuff they may folly. You'll have increased runner velocity, but then at what level does that get maximized and is actually hurting? (rpm/cam based).

It's pretty general stuff...

its gonna be a street car that will see minimum track time. The cam is in the 590/600 range i have to find the card. But its a mexican block with a pro power stroker kit and ross pistons. I have the eddy upper and lower as well. The car will be sprayed with enough nitrous to get it into the 10's. So hopefully i can do that with only a 100 shot.

What kind of dish if any on that piston, so as to say on a 58cc (whatever the patroits list) chamber will yeild what compression? Which edelbrock intake??? Is this an EFI car?

Just read and crunch #'s. More than likely I'd say the bigger heads would benifit.

I dont think they have any dish, its been awhile i have the engine in storage. They are flattops with reliefs. Its an efi car and i have the edelbrock performer intake, the street version not the short runner track intake.
