Sorry for being so vague. I was saying $600 more than "already invested". I was speaking with a PSD drag racer. He says that if I throw an "Edge Juice with Attitude" in that I will see mid 12's. I have already upgraded exhaust and intake. Supposedly, 4 door automatic trucks can see 14's with those mods. Mine being regular cab & 6 speed manual .... launching in 4WD ... I could see mid 12's if I can build 22 psi.
I'm still learning about them, so I really have no idea how well I would be able to run. Regardless, it's still depressing when I think of my car.
I work for keystone automotive in PA and tons of people buy those edge programmers and come back saying they are awesome the next day..that they ran 13's, 12's...etc... at the track the other night... Which to me is great.
But then about 2-3 months later they come back saying that they blew a manifold, turbo flange, piston, their convertor, or something else on their truck and need to repair it because they decided to turn the programmer all the way up [same goes for the Banks 6-shooter or the power-pup programmers] and they end up blowing up their truck.
To me, I'd rather drive my $3,500 mustang with about $4,000 into it and know that I can upgrade it more, for a cheap amount of money and still be able to drive it to and from the track each night.
My car has 159,984 miles on it [Yeah, I looked when I got out of the car tonight] and it still runs like a beast. I got it with a bad trans, paintjob, and it needed a new convertible top, but for 7k it's not a bad car. Not to mention that it's taking a 100shot of dry ZEX nitrous right now [since about 152k] with not as much as a burp. For another $1500 I can have it in the 12's.
My $10,000 mustang [if that] VS your $35,000 diesel?
I think the mustang was money well spent.. Not to mention it def. does look better
