Hello

Shall I have dexron III (Automatic transmission fluid) in my "manual" transmission??

And wonder one more thing, is ther any difference on "Dexron" and Dextron" whit the "t" in the middle?
Have seen both spelling on different brand.

I've used mobil 1 synthtic for the past 20k miles, haven't noticed a difference. Let me tell you, it was a lot of fun laying on my back using a one of those hand pump things trying to refil the tranny. I pretty much took a bath in the stuff. I should have took the advise of others and filled it through the shifter.

I don't know about the "T" difference, if I were to guess, it's the same stuff just different manufacturers.

looks like me and matteman have the same name...anyways, i was wondering if new fluid in the manual tranny would be any better for it, i checked mine the other day, and it was fun, and pretty dark. My tranny rattles and stuff all the time. Would new fluid help?

I've tried the pumps from under the car which is a pain like you say and have had the shifter off enough to to see that is too time consuming. I use a 3-4 foot section of hose fished down to the oil fill hole from the engine bay and stick a funnel on the end making an easy task of the oil fill. :D

Now that's a good idea. I sure wish I would have thought of that. Eh, live and learn I guess. I'll definitely do that the next time I change fluid. Thanks for the tip :nice:
