Diablo Predator vs. Dyno Tuned DiabloSport Chip?

First of all, those are some damn good numbers you're putting down right now.

It's not far fetched to see 15-20rwhp gain from a tune mostly from advancing the timing and adjust the A/F ratio (especially if you have aftermarket cams).

Personally, I'd get the tuner which will yield the same results ... plus you can go in at any time and change whatever you want.

I think after the 2nd time you send a tune to your car with the hand held tuner it's already paid for itself.

Considering the price to have someone burn your a chip, and how quickly it becomes obsolete as soon as you do any additional mods ... in my opinion the best route to get the tuner.

I'd only get the chip unless I was 100% done with my car and the chip was the icing on the cake.

Very minute details, but anything really worth changing you can do in the hand held.

BTW - When you get either the chip or the tuner I'd probably take off your timing advancer and sell it...since you can advance the timing with the ECU.

Although if you go through with the chip, keep the timing adjuster and don't mess with the spark advance in the tune so you can adjust it yourself manually whenever you need to.

I just got the Predator a week ago. The basic tune that comes with it seemed like the improvements were marginal at best. The cool part was when I had it log a good 20 min. drive and then I got home and watched where the fuel and timing were changing (rpms). I was then able to go in and tweak their tune. When all was done, it feels like it was pulling harder than ever before, and the torque band feels like it almost doubled.
I think the biggest perk is that you can tune it until you find the "sweet spot", and then keep adjusting it whenever you do another mod. If you have a chip burned, albeit on a dyno, it's only as good for what you have on the car now...
