difference between 02 sensors in headers vs. exhaust pipe?

Hello everyone,
I just got the JBA 1627S headers for my Bronco 331 buildup and right on the installation instructions is a listing for 1627-1 which says 'includes a provision for an 02 sensor'.

I am away from the Bronco right now and cant check to see if the 02 sensor is in the manifold or the pipe...that said, is there a 'better' location, and why?

Regardless of where it is from the factory I would be interested in doing it the best way.

as close to the engine as posible is where it will get the best reading.

Ok, but are there any problems with reading from only one cylinder bank?

how many o2 sensors did the car come with originally? should be one for each bank anyway

I need to check but i thought just one- it is a single exhaust.

well i don't know broncos. but i always thought all V8's would have 2 (one for each bank) if not put it in the merge

nope just one. my bronco had one o2 sensor on the passenger side pipe right behind the manifold.

Then that is the place for it. I have read that the computer knows when pulses should come down the exhaust and when you move the O2 sensors you mess up the timing of those pulses as the computer sees them. You could call Ford Racing and ask them. They would know.
