hey ive got a 02 v6, but its got the T5 behind it, thats the same tranny the 5.0s use, correct? okay well it has always been a really notchy tranny, but just reccently, its been kinda hard to shift into the gears... could teh clutch be going bad, or need adjusting?

If the car starts to roll as soon as it comes off the floor, then it is adjustment more than likely. How many miles are on it? On the fox you pull the pedal up to tighten the cable, dont know if yours is the same. It should click.

yeah i topped off the clutch fluid, that didnt seem to help, i also tried bleeding it out, still nothing :S

EDIT: whoops you meant the tranny fluid... haha ill check that out or maybe just change it tommrow... but ya the clutch fluid is good

By topping off, exactly how much fluid did you have to add?

How hard of a shifter are you when rowing through the gears?

haha i was just kidding about the clutch fluid stuff, its a cable clutch... when i first read taht "is the fluid level up" i just thought he was playin around and meant clutch fluid, then i realized i was stupid and he meant tranny fluid...

im not too hard on it during my daily driving, but once in a while i do bang through them pretty rough...

LOL, yep, i did mean trans fluid. i would not even know if a newer stang had a hydraulic or cable actuated clutch and would not have ventured that idea. :spot:

now that you mention it, have you checked the clutch cable fluid reservoir? :rlaugh:

do you have an aftermarket shifter on it? if so, i would hope that forks were not bent (if it is adjusted properly).

also, im not sure your T5 is exactly like ours (since it is a Tremec and 10 years newer and on a 6, i would think it is not), i might try the V6 sub-forum in case there is something ideosynchratic with your year's trans.

good luck.

Clutch grabbing about halfway up is about right, so it doesn't sound like an adjustment issue. Pull the top filler plug out on the pass side, and pour atf into the shifter hole till it comes out the top hole in the side (don't forget a drip pan) if that doesn't help, it's likely internal issues
