went to the track last night after my new o/r pipe and my times have not got any better my current best was 15.11 @92 and last night i could only get a [email protected]. It was 85-90 degress with high humidity but it is still bull****. then after i left my car started making a horrible clicking noise and then my tranny slipped a coupla times on the way home.how much could the humidity and heat actually affect it?And I got owned by a 92 eagle talon that ran 11.73@120 on street tires :owned:

I used to go to the track every week and some weeks I went twice. :D Believe me, I do understand your frustration about spending your money on a mod and not seeing a gain from it. :bang: Thats just how it goes with this hobby sometimes. Always understand that if anything on your car is kinda weak, a trip to the track can usually make it surface, lol.

In a way, I kinda think its was more fun to go to the track when I was stock or mildly modded cause you can knock big chunks off your time with relative ease and little expense compared to when you get faster like in the 12.xx range.

Anyway, hang in there and keep at it........it'll get better

The temp and humidity can have a pretty big effect. I know I am having a hard time keeping the temp down on mine right now, its been in the 90's here seems like forever now. What was the weather like the time you ran your best? If theres a big diff, I'd say thats your answer.

My best run is a 15.26 @ 93.37 mph and that was August 2nd last year at Firebird raceway here in Phoenix....I think it was something like 98 degrees at midnight that day. All my car had at the time was exhaust, cai, and ignition. Get a high stall and a transgo kit, I bet you drop half a second. I'd get an afpr too and bump yourself up a couple lbs with your combo.

i ran my best in 75 degree weather. the problem is I think that maybe my h pipe took away some low end torque b/c my 60 ft went from an average of 2.22 before to a last night best of 2.27.

How was your launch with the o/r pipe? any tire spin? that would be my guess, freeing up exaust flow shouldnt hurt the bottom end, only help it
just my 2 cents

Are you running Nitto DR's or the reg 555's ? Also if they are the DR's what PSI are you running at and how long are you doing a burn out for?

If your just on street tires then that could be some of your prob as well if your still getting 2.2 60's. The biggest thing that will drop your times is pratice. I started out dissipointed as well but my times have gotten much better this summer. My first ever run w the car when it had nothing but pullies and exhaust and some bumped timming w/ street tires was mid 15's w/ 2.4 60's. That was about 3 yrs ago. My car the way it is now my first trip to the track I ran a best of 13.7, my second trip I ran a best of 13.4, my third trip I ran 13.1's and started to figure out how to launch the car and started to get 1.9 60's. And just yesterday I ran my best of a 12.885 w/ a 1.936 60'.
