distributor gear steel or cast ?

93 notch 5.0 "stock" I go to buy new distributor and option steel gear or cast gear . I cant tell for sure . Isnt it a roller stock ? that would mean steel gear right ? i did read on here cast is for flat tappet cam and steel is for roller cam but just wondered why parts store offered both for my car . Just trying to b safe . THANKS

Stock cam in a roller motor should equal a steel gear.

they offer that for my 79 stang to but u can tell the difference between them cast iron isnt the same as the steel at all
