Probalby should be in talk, but either way... For your first pass you won't need a helmet. Is your car a Hardtop or Vert?

Go to a test / tune night with some buddies and they can help you get the idea of how things work at the track.

Per the letter of the rulebook, you would not need a helmet until you get to 11.99 or quicker, I believe. A bit slower with a vert.

However, its not a bad idea to have one.

I started at a track that required a helmet on everyone, so I have always used one, although it probably does not meet current Snell requirements.

Driver's in supercharged front-engine open-bodied cars must wear a helmet meeting SNELL SA95, SA90 or SFI 31.1 or 31.2 Specs or BSI BS 6658-85 type A (including all amendments) Specs. not without gears imo, it'd be close with good driving and a 2.0 60', the 1/8th i run at requires a helmet for times 8.59 and under, thats my goal this summer, to have to wear a helmet

Forget the helmet if it is your first time to the track. You're gonna have trouble breaking into the 14s.
