Do I need wheel spacers? (Pics inside)

from what i've read, hubcentric spacers that have studs protruding from them are supposed to eliminate any chance of the spacer shifting or causing any sort of shearing force. I was considering getting some 1" hubcentric spacers for my stock wheels, but now I'm scared my studs are going to shear off lol

Just get upgraded studs and you'll be fine.


I personally wouldn't run spacers, but if i did, i would only run the bolt-on style you just mentioned with upgraded studs. I wouldn't run slip-on spacers....and sure as hell would never run $20 Autozone spacers on my car

I've had my H&R 1" spacers on for over 3 years. I've been lapping and hit the drag strip weekly and have had no problems (thank God).

Good thing I didn't read all this scarey stuff before hand .

Oh and to the original poster, your car looks GREAT and doesn't need them.

My 1/4" spacers are from MM & they are light as hell. I didnt need new studs either. I dont see how a 1/4" thin peice of metal is gonna cause some type of failure??? There is plenty of thread left & like I said the are super light. Its the cheap 1" spacers from pep boys with internal studs that might fail, but the eibach 1" spacers work fine as well. i know plenty of people that run them with zero problems. They dont weigh more than a few pounds & use strong studs.

Epik, are you running the slip-on type spacers or the bolt-on type from MM?
