i hope Ford does not give us that Italian looking Mustang, really, that will be a mistake on their part. i know some people like it, and that is fine. i don't. that's my opinion and i am entitled to it. but if they do come out with it, don't you think it will be up there in price like the loaded Camaro and Challenger will be? i mean, look at the price jump from the fox bodies to the SN-95's, then the jump from SN-95's to S-197's. if Ford brings out that car, it will be priced with the new cars coming out. i would expect a minimum of 32K for it, unequipped, and close to 40K loaded. so it will fit right in with the Camaro and Challenger then. and if that is the case, i will look into them before the new Mustang.

and as for the Vette discussion, i don't think all Vette owners are jerks, but some are. hell, some Mustang owners are jerks, it's just how some people are. if i wanted a Vette, i would have one, money is not the issue there. it is a matter of compatablilty. i have a family, and therefore i have to have a car with 4 seats, period. would i take a Vette, sure. would i buy one, no. simple as that.

he is, he just needs to know when to expect to have his Vette modified, so he can actually outrun one of them.

That's great that you didn't have a problem. I'm sure there's Ferrari owners out there that haven't either. But the majority of Vette owners have. I'm not saying every Vette owner is a douchebag, but the majority of them are. And those aren't the people I'd like to hang out with. BTW, look at my signature. If I wanted a Vette, don't you think I could get a Vette?

I'm no fan of the C6 but I am a fan of Vettes but with some perspective. They are very reliable. i never had a single fault and my friend has clocked about 30000 miles in his C5 Z06 over the last two years as a daily driver and has only changed the oil. So you can't knock their reliability. It's also £2000 to service a Ferrari and about $100 to service a Vette so let's keep that balanced perspective too. I'd have to say I've had far more trouble with the Mustang even if it is only a stupid seatbelt light that won't go out.

did you try the owner's manual for your seatbelt light issue? there is a trick in there that will cut it off if you don't wear it...

Vettes are very nice cars for the money, too bad Ford can't crack the whip on the dealers on the new Cobra's and tell them you sell them over MSRP you will get exactly 1 car no matter how many you sell.

I'm a blue collar guy that loves Mustangs but the raping by the dealer are stupid. I'm a car guy though and it doesn't matter which brand you choose I'd rater hang out with those type than the types thinking there only one brand, how ricer (or young). When Dodge and Chevy comes to the table it won't be like when I was young in the 70's I'll take notice and get the best car for the money. Right now you can't beat a C6 and I've seen that a Z06 has broke into the 10's bone stock, of course this wasn't with your average driver.

If none of these pan out I may pick up an 03/04 Cobra to go with the Mach's for fun. Cars are starting to get into the "Stupid Money" bracket that I won't be a part of even though I can afford them. The Mustang was always a car the average driver could afford and the GT's are now at the high end of the bracket unless you want to spend your hard earned money on something that won't hold it's value. All I can say is that is one nice car, I would love to have on and im glad that chevy and dodge are getting back into the market. Lets just hope the dealer mark up isnt like the GT500. I did have the opportunity to trade for a charger SRT that was marked down 8K and passed, to many doors.

Performance addiction has no boundaries. Mature respect for performance sports holds no name or branding. It is a feeling one feels in their "azs" and in their heart. I could care less the platform so long as it is one I can manipulate and caress to my end objective. Like crack - it is an equal opportunity offender.
