Does a permanent fuel pressure gauge on fuel rail = broken gauge?

About 1500 miles ago, I installed a new FP, fuel filter, Kirban AFPR, and a Autometer #2173 Fuel Pressure gauge on my fuel rail. The gauge read as expected and the needle was pretty steady. Now I notice that the gauge is jumping around, like up and down 2-4 PSI. I also recently (200 miles ago) upped the pressure to 43 (vac off) with my Kirban. I never noticed this flutter before with it at stock 39. The gauge stayed very steady at the FP.

Is it likely that I've ruined the gauge with vibration, etc. from permanently mounting it on my fuel rail, and the FP change is just a coiencidence? Or could the Kirban be taking a dump?

Get another fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure. Anything is possible...IDK what to tell you.

Ive had my fuel pressure guage mounted on my fuel rail for a few yrs now and I havent had any problems.

I'm currently having the SAME problem. Except mine is jumping more than 5psi at the time.

First, I thought it was my Accufab AFPR that was bad. So I put the stocker back on..Same results. Then I thought the fuel pump was acting funny/malfunctioning so I installed the big 255lph high pressure one. Same problem...Then, even if I knew that the fuel filter was almost new, I decided to buy another one. Same problem. My injectors have about 500miles and I know they are not the problem. The only thing left to fix "easily" is that Summit fuel pressure gauge, on the fuel rail. I'm getting my other one tomorrow. Apparently more precise and better quality that Autometer..Hopefully the problem will be fixed tomorrow.

Looks like my problem is solved. I changed the gauge yesterday and set it at 38psi vac on. I just went for a ride and hammered it good and came back on to look at the reading. It was still at 38psi. Usually that 38psi would have been like 32 or so after a run at the track or a good beating.

So far so good. Hopefully that is it. Oh yeah btw I bought a VDO fuel presure gauge.

My gauge reading is jumping up and down several times a second, continously. Is this your experience, or did it just, over time, work it's way down?

When the car idles funny, like it wants to die, the gauge reading was following the idle. This was the only movement I could see happening. Other than that it was never moving, except when I was driving but couldnt obviously see it move. Mine didnt necesseraly worked his way down..cause sometimes it was way high also. But it definately never moved several times a second. I'm happy that I solved this problem.
