Does anyone have the ARE Torque Thrust IIs

I need help. I have a 95 Cobra and I am about to purchase the ARE Torque Thrust IIs but have ?s. I am looking at the 17x11s (315x35) and 17x9.5s(275x40). The ARE sites shows that the wheels are made for 94 and up Mustangs. Thanks for any input.

1. Do they clear the Cobra brakes? I read a post where Killer Canary stated that he heard they would not clear Cobra brakes. Is this true?

2. Do I have to remove the quad shock or flip them? If so will it affect the ride quality?

3. Does the car have to be at stock ride height to fit the wheels? If not how much can the car be lowered to fit them?

Talk to a really nice guy over at the Corral named Gary using the screen name of yellow95.

He has been running those wheels for a good while and I would bet he knows a good bit about them.

I run the TTII's with 17x9 with 275x40's in front and the 17x11's with a 315x35 in the rear....so the basic same setup your wanting.

The brakes are good to go with a 17in rim, I have not heard anyone have clearance issues with a 17in rim...now 15/16's yes but not 17's.

The only thing I did to get mine to mount and go was flip the rear quad shocks.

Hey thanks Grady and Blksn95. Grady I will mosey on over there and find him. I fell in love with those wheels when I first saw them :rolleyes: . Damn Blksn95 those wheels look like steam rollers - looks goooood. Blksn95 are you at the stock ride height with those wheels - it looks that way - but need confirmation. I asked because I dropped my car about 2"s or more. I love my current stance but willing to go back up to fit those wheels. I will be installing new suspension parts (i.e. springs, shocks and rear control arms arms) over the winter. Thanks
 
those pics are with the 100% factory susp.

I did put on some bullit springs this spring though, and it did drop it about 3/4-1in and it looks preaty nice, I realy dont have much rubbing but I do have some times heard it when I am on a funky angld' up-hill turn in the rear.

Unless your spring is SUPER stiff, I would think 2in would be a tad too much of a drop, realy I think 1-1.5 or so would be about the max...and you would still get some rubbing. The only way to get rid of the rubbing 100% will be to get the lip around the wheel rolled.

Those rims do look dead secksy with the soft rolled lines of the 94-98, plus you realy dont see many 94-98's with them so they are still not -over done- mosty due to the cost I think.

Yes you are correct. You don't see many if any where I live with those wheels. I just see the mainstays: Cobra Rs, Bullit etc, etc. I just flat out love those wheels. I'm getting them just have to decide on which size.

If I can get about 1-1.5 dropped it would make those wheels look even sweeter on the car. It will give it a tight look.
