hello everyone i just signed up,i dont have a mustang yet but im pretty sure i am buying the one that i looked at tonight...i want to know if you guy's think this is a good buy? ok the info on this car is..1988 mustang gt 5 speed with 124,000 km's seems to run good has been sitting for a few months but runs, has some newer parts on it,is pretty clean, the only rust on it is a little spot near the sunroof and its an as is sale but past a saftey about 4 months ago and i can get it for $2200 cdn asking price was $2500 cdn does this sound like a good deal for one of these cars considering what i just told you?

no sorry i have no pics but i got under the car and i didnt see any major rust or holes i also felt around on the floor from the inside as well and i didnt find any holes that way either...although when the guy bought the car it had a very small hole under the driver side but it was fixed

rust free is nice, because it would really suck to throw a bunch of money into a car then have it start to rot away on you.
that said, i see you live in canada, and a rust free car of any type is VERY hard to come by up here.... those are pretty low km's, which is a good start. if it's just minor cosmetic rust, that's easy to fix. look for rust underneath, on the strut towers, and other important areas.

Look for something that hasn't seen any winters. I bought my 92 GT this past August from a friend but I personally knew all the people that have owned it and it has been garaged every winter without fail. I got real lucky and picked it up for $2,200 although it need a minor repair of the rear bumper and quarter from getting bumped by a Harley!! Not a spec of rust though which is a huge accomplishment being in Buffalo!
