Does this weight seem right?

I took my car (95 GTS)to the truck scale last summer and it weighed 3140. This seems light to me even with aluminum heads, no ac, no smog pump, glass hood, etc. I would have thought a couple hundred pounds heavier. Does this seem right to you guys and what weights are you getting with simular mods?

Yeah, my car weighs 3340 without me in it. And I have aluminum heads and a fiberglass hood. My Fox weighed 3180.

Mine is a GTS also, so you think that weight might be accurate? That was 3140 without me in it, 3300 with me in. Mine has a full cloth interior and power windows and all the previously mentioned mods.

I read somewhere that the dry block weight between a 302 and 351 is about 45-50lbs I doubt the intake would add another 50 pounds. I use an AOD in mine so thats gotta add to it. Makes me wanna weigh mine when its done being painted.

Mine's 3350 w/o me in it. If you subtract the extra weight from the TKO-600, blow proof bell housing, 351w block, and 10.5"/9" rims/tires it would probably be closer to 3200. I don't have smog or a/c, still have full interior.

Actually, I did just put 9/10.5" wheels and tires on mine so it should weigh a little more now. I will probably reweigh it the spring.

Yeah. All those weights are about right. Unfortunately, my car has every single option except for rear defrost. I would like to get rid of my power driver seat rack. That setup will brake your back when you take the seat out.

I have manual seats in mine. I will probably go thru it this year and pull some of the sound deadener out of it. Thanks for all of the input

A stock GT weighs 3375lb with a full tank of gas. Yours should be at least 120lb lighter and possibly more. How much fuel did you have in the tank?

where did you see that the difference was only 45lbs? Everything Ive read said the difference between the 351/302 was 100lbs

Maybe, I dunno. Mine's steel and weighs 50-75 pounds.


I'm still on here a couple times a week, just don't post much. Been gathering parts to start rebuilding my engine. Just need a set of pistons, then I can get started.
