I'm going to get this done in the next few days and from what I gather it is safe to put the top bracket back on and i need a shorter bolt to do that. What size bolt should i get, could i get it from like home depot? I would like to pick it up first and do the job in the garage rather than in the parking lot of home depot.

I had bad wheel hop in my car with the stock upper and lower control arms, but my quad shocks were busted. But my aftermarket uppers and lowers put a stop to that. But if you drag race and still have quad shocks there probaly busted anyway.

I've always heard the only way you should remove the dog bone is if you get a aluminum driveshaft.

you can put an aluminum with an auto, slight modification to the linkage...i know there's a thread on here about doin the conversion
Yup. I have an aluminum driveshaft in my 01 GT, and it is an automatic. Just buy the driveshaft recommended for the five speeds, and swap yokes. That is all there is to it.
