I'm looking at some DOT drag radial tires that I can use at the track. I want to mount the tires on the 10 hole rims. What size is good, 235's,245's or 275's x 15??? Any brand recommendations?
for the most part, i have seen them in 275. i know that you can get them in 245 also, but 275 would put more rubber to the ground.
as for brands, i hear that BFGs are amazing, but, Nittos are also good--- and last longer.

I know that the 89's are a little smaller in the wheel wells, compared to the 90's and above stang's. I just don't want to get a 275's and does not fit you know what I'm saying.
BFGs 275 muscle mustangs did a test betweeen et streets and the bfgs and the bfgs did the better and fit the ten holes perfect! thats what im going with and i heard they are sticky like flypaper when heated up
I run the 275/50/15 on my 10 holes and they hook great. They require a good second gear burnout but I have mannaged 1.7 60' times with little to no wheel hop and stock suspension. The 275 are a little big for the 15x7 rims but they still fit. Nitto's last longer but do not hook as well is what I hear from people.
If you just using them at the track why not go with some 26x10.5 ET streets or a 26x10 slick? Micky Thompson has a new DR out but I haven't heard anything about it yet. http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/press.html

The 89's are only smaller in the front, so it won't matter what size DR you put on there! Personally I have seen that the Nittos are better on the street and the BFGs are better at the track!
I have 275-15 BFGs on ten holes on my 82, with about one coil cut from the rear springs. Seem to fit fine, and hook like gangbusters!!!! 1.89 sixty foots!
I have the BFG's 255/50/R16's and they hook great, but if you drive daily you might want to try nittos or others unless you like replacing tires after a year or so. Mine are bald now and have all kinds of holes in them, they are so soft they pick up every pepple on the road and it sticks in the tire. They work awesome though and hook good but wear out pretty quick. I'm gonna try out the nittos DR's and see if they dont wear as much like I hear from everyone else.
