Guys the Mustang Week staff is looking for a drag strip closer to Myrtle Beach for the future Mustang Week events.
We have heard rumors of some that are only 30 min. away.

yes there is a track right outside of whiteville, nc which is only 30 minutes away from myrtle beach. go there often just to hang out and watch. not the nicest of tracks, but if interested i could definitely talk to the track owner and see about some upgrades or some improvements and let him know possibly it could become an every year event for him, more money!!!!!
like i said, it's not a state of the art track. it's an 1/8th mile track and is mostly grassed except for right at staging lanes. i can get the track owners number, but i would not recommend it over darlington. but if you would like i can check with the owner. he is pretty cool, he leaves the gate open all week long normally just for us to do some street race style, but of course with no tree or clocks working.
There is a 1/8 of a mile track even closer than North Carolina in North Myrtle Beach and according to the video I downloaded on www.stangsource.com the car show was held at colonial mall in north myrtle. The track is on highway 93 not to far from the mall.
